Disney Believe: Everything Announced (2026)

By KyaFirst-hand verified by Kya · October 2026Published 6 min read

The short answer

Disney Cruise Line revealed the Disney Believe on 7 October 2026. It is the fourth Wish class ship, it sails its maiden voyage from Port Everglades in Florida on 18 December 2027 on four and five night Bahamas and Caribbean itineraries, and bookings open on 19 October 2026. For Australians it is a lovely ship a very long way away, and the Disney Adventure out of Singapore is still the one that makes sense from here.

The headline facts

Disney Cruise Line revealed the Disney Believe in a livestream on 7 October 2026, which landed on the morning of the 8th here. Everything below comes from that reveal and the official announcement, and the video itself is further down this page if you would rather watch than read.

That booking date is the part worth diarising. Maiden voyage sailings and Christmas week on a brand new ship are the two things that go fastest, and this one is both at once.

What is genuinely new

The theme is belief, and it is drawn from films about characters who back themselves. A few of these are real firsts.

  • An Encanto stage musical. The first anywhere in the fleet. Given how well the music carries a theatre, this is the announcement with the most in it.
  • The Moana Grand Hall. A bronze Moana with Pua and Heihei, under a moving chandelier that mimics waves with the Heart of Te Fiti set inside. Each Wish class ship gets its own atrium character, so this is new rather than recycled.
  • Wishing Well, a Snow White lounge on deck 3.
  • Sea Notes, a Little Mermaid piano bar built around Ariel's grotto.
  • Oaken's Table: A Frozen Family Feast, a dinner show.
  • Joyful Sweets from Inside Out 2, Big Hero Sips from Big Hero 6, Café Kakamora from Moana, and GAZELLE, a Zootopia event space.
  • Skygazers, an observatory themed pub.
  • A Tower Suite themed to Magic Kingdom.

Plenty there, and the spread of films is wider than the fleet has gone before. Zootopia, Big Hero 6 and Inside Out 2 are all new territory at sea.

If any of that has caught your interest, here is Disney's own reveal.

And what we have seen before

Here is where the enthusiasm wants tempering, and it is worth being honest about it rather than writing a press release back at you.

It is the fourth ship on the same platform. The Wish arrived in 2022, the Treasure in 2024, the Destiny in 2025, and the Believe follows in 2027. Same hull, same tonnage, same basic layout. If you have sailed any of them you will know where everything is before you board, which is either reassuring or a bit flat depending on what you were hoping for.

The Haunted Mansion Parlor is on its third outing. It opened on the Disney Treasure, carried over to the Disney Destiny, and now appears again. It is a genuinely good bar, and it is also no longer a reason to pick one ship over another.

Tangled: The Musical is not new. It has been running on the Disney Magic for years. New special effects are promised, but the show itself is a transfer rather than a debut.

Two of the three rotational restaurants are returning. Worlds of Marvel and 1923 both carry over from the existing Wish class ships.

Disney Seas the Adventure returns too. That is the Wish class house show, so this is the fourth ship to run it.

Oaken's Table is the second Frozen dinner show. Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure has been on the Disney Wish since launch. A different take on the same film, in the same slot in the evening.

None of that makes it a bad ship. It makes it an iteration, and an iteration is a reasonable thing for a cruise line to build when the formula is working. But if you were expecting the leap the Wish represented in 2022, this is not that, and the marketing language around the reveal does rather invite you to expect it.

What it means if you are in Australia

This is the bit most of the coverage will skip, so here it is plainly.

Port Everglades is about as far from Australia as a cruise port gets. You are looking at well over 24 hours of flying each way, plus the usual Los Angeles or Dallas connection, to reach a four night cruise. The sailing is shorter than the journey to it.

That maths only works in one of two ways:

  1. You were going to Florida anyway. Bolting a four or five night cruise onto a Walt Disney World trip is a well worn and very good idea, and it is the way most Australians end up on a Caribbean sailing. Start with Walt Disney World from Australia and flights to Orlando from Australia.
  2. The ship itself is the holiday. Fair enough, and a maiden voyage over Christmas is a genuine occasion. Just go in knowing the flights will cost more than the cruise.

Otherwise, the Disney Adventure is still your ship. It sails from Singapore, which is roughly eight hours from the east coast instead of twenty four, and it was built for exactly this market. We have written it up in the Disney Adventure ship guide, with the practicalities in how a Singapore fly cruise works and what a Singapore Disney cruise costs from Australia.

If you are weighing the two, the honest comparison is not Believe against Adventure on features. It is a four night Caribbean cruise plus two very long flights against a Singapore sailing you can reach overnight.

Should you book on 19 October?

Only you can answer that, but a few things are worth knowing before the queue forms.

  • Maiden voyages sell out. The 18 December 2027 sailing is the one that will go first, and Christmas and New Year sailings behind it will not be far behind.
  • You are booking fourteen months out. Disney Cruise Line deposits are refundable up to a point and then they are not, so check where that line falls for your sailing before you commit.
  • Flights from Australia are not bookable that far ahead, or not at sensible prices. You will be committing to the cruise before you know what the hard part costs.
  • Nothing about this ship is a surprise if you have sailed the Wish class. If you are choosing between the Believe in 2027 and something sooner, the something sooner will not feel like a lesser ship.

Frequently asked questions

When does the Disney Believe sail? The maiden voyage is 18 December 2027 from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, on four and five night Bahamas and Caribbean itineraries.

When do Disney Believe bookings open? 19 October 2026.

What class is the Disney Believe? It is the fourth ship in the Wish class, after the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny. Around 140,000 tons, built by Meyer Werft and due for delivery in the final quarter of 2027.

What is new on the Disney Believe? The first Encanto stage musical in the fleet, a Moana themed Grand Hall, a Snow White lounge called Wishing Well, a Little Mermaid piano bar called Sea Notes, Oaken's Table as a second Frozen dinner show, and new spaces drawn from Zootopia, Inside Out 2 and Big Hero 6.

What is carried over from other ships? The Haunted Mansion Parlor from the Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny, Tangled: The Musical from the Disney Magic, the rotational restaurants Worlds of Marvel and 1923, and the Wish class show Disney Seas the Adventure.

Can Australians sail on the Disney Believe? Yes, but it sails from Florida, so it is a long haul. Unless you are combining it with a Walt Disney World trip, the Disney Adventure from Singapore is the far easier option from Australia.
