Theme park trips, planned from Australia

Most theme park advice online is written for people who can drive to the gate. Main Street Down Under is for the rest of us: Australians weighing up a long-haul flight, the exchange rate, school holidays and visas before they get anywhere near a queue.

Kya runs the site and writes the guides. John builds and looks after the website behind it.

How every guide is checked

A guide cannot go live until Kya has checked every fact, price and date in it, against a real visit or an official source, and marked it first-hand verified. The site will not let an unchecked guide publish. The verified mark on each guide shows the month that check was done.

Prices and rules at the parks change often. Each guide shows the year it was checked for in its title and the date it was last updated, and prices are given in Australian dollars first, with the park’s own currency beside them.

Our photos

Every photo on this site is original photography, and each one is credited with who took it, where, and when. We never use stock images, official press images or screenshots.

How the site makes money

• Personal shopping: a clearly priced fee for buying park merchandise on your behalf.
• Affiliate links: some guides may link to booking sites that pay us a commission. Any page with them says so at the top, and they never change what we recommend. See the affiliate disclosure.
• Advertising, if we ever run it, is always labelled as advertising.
